The ‘OPEN WORK’ provides a glimpse into the inner workings of architectural offices

‘Z&SR Architectural Ventures (ZSR), established in 2006, is an award winning prime architectural consultancy service based in Malaysia. They serve a diverse clientele from both private and public sectors, and manage projects across a wide scale. Their services cover the ranges of individual homes, renovation works, to various urban development proposals. ZSR’s outstanding architectural works are the results of working closely with stakeholders, and holding on to their principles of design.
ZSR’s notable project include Surau Qadrul Hasan which was shortlisted in PAM Awards 2017 under the Public & Institutional Category.
‘OPEN WORK’ program provide graduate architects and architects, as well as members of the general public who want to learn more about the architectural profession an opportunity to learn about the internal workings of an architectural office and studio. The program’s idea is to bring various parties together, including practitioners, users, and students, to raise knowledge of the significance that architects play in the community. Attendees will be able to learn more about the processes and techniques used in architecture by touring the respective offices and practises.
Some of the activities for ‘OPEN WORK’ program may include dialogue, talks, office tours, mini-workshops, project mentoring and other engagement activities along with refreshments after. The program’s seats are limited due to the restrictions of the practice workspace and RSVP is the only way to register for the programme, which is free.
The ‘OPEN WORK’ program was inspired by similar events held in other countries, such as the Open House London event. It aims to provide attendees with a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn from industry professionals and gain insights into the architecture profession.
