Ar. Wooi Lok Kuang
Wooi Lok Kuang is a corporate member of the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) and a practicing architect based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is the principal of Wooi Architect which he established at the end of 1996. He was born in the northern regions of Malaysia where he spent his childhood among traditional Malay villages. The authentic and sustainable way of life in the villages has greatly influenced his outlook in architecture. He spent ten years in Sydney, Australia and obtained a Bachelor of Architecture (1989) and subsequently a Master of Architecture (1990) from the University of New South Wales. Apart from his practice, he was regularly invited as speaker, mentor and external examiner to local universities. He was appointed as an Adjunct Professor at University Putra Malaysia from 2008 to 2015. His works were recognized by Malaysian Institute of Architect (PAM) and Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA) for architectural excellence and published locally and internationally.
