Tales of Architecture Roadshow Captivates the Southern Region at SMK Sri Pinang, Johor Bahru

The event took place on the 18th of July 2023 from 8 am to 2.30 pm, aimed to ignite interest and provide initial exposure to the world of architecture, encouraging students to pursue further studies in the field at the tertiary level.

The roadshow, hosted by SMK Seri Pinang and held at their campus on Jalan Tun Abdul Majid, Bandar Tenggara, welcomed esteemed presenters, Ar. Ahmad Fareez bin Yaacob and Muhammad Dzulhilmi bin Abdul Razak, who graciously shared their expertise and experiences with the students. The event commenced with a warm welcome speech by the school head, followed by an opening speech delivered by Ar. Adj. Prof. Norzaini Mufti, the Director of KLAF2023.

Keynote speaker, Ar. Ahmad Farik Abd Ghaffar, the Chairman of PAM Southern Chapter also shared his insights into the field of architecture and the critical role it plays in addressing contemporary challenges, particularly related to sustainability.

The roadshow continued with a sharing session by Ar. Ahmad Fareez bin Yaacob, the Principal of Arkitek A Fareez, who engaged the students with his journey in architecture and highlighted the significance of incorporating recycled materials in architectural projects to support environmental conservation. Muhammad Dzulhilmi bin Abdul Razak, an alumnus of UTHM, took the stage and shared his experiences as an architectural professional, enlightening the students about the diverse career paths and opportunities available in the architectural field.

The highlight of the program was the “”Our Future City”” activity, where students actively participated in designing sustainable cities using recycled materials and concluded with a presentation session and the announcement of winners for the “”Our Future City”” activity. Participants were awarded for their innovative designs and sustainable solutions, encouraging them to continue their pursuit of excellence in the field.
