Open Work 5 : Choo Poo Liang Architect (CPLA/02DA)

Open Work at Choo Poo Liang Architect (CPLA / 02DA) was held on Friday, 16 June 2023 from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm, was the fifth installation in the engaging Open Work program at their office in Zenith Corporate Park, Kelana Jaya.
Founded by Malaysian architect, Edric Choo Poo Liang (LAM A/C 307), CPLA / O2DA is an innovative practice that champions the creativity within the architectural industry. They defy the conventional, opting not to adhere to a specific style but rather responding uniquely to each project’s nature, local culture, societal behavior, context, and architectural language. They believe in addressing climate change and environmental consciousness, treating each project as a meticulous response to these pressing global issues. Last year, CPLA + 02DA’s outstanding work was recognized when they won the PAM Silver Award 2022 for their design of “”GARISAN @ Puchong,”” an elegantly crafted series of 12 units of 2.5 storey linked terrace houses nestled in a slender one-acre plot in the suburban area of Kuala Lumpur.
‘OPEN WORK’ programme aims to provide graduate architects and architects, as well as members of the general public who want to learn more about the architectural profession an opportunity to learn about the internal workings of an architectural office and studio. The program’s idea is to bring various parties together, including practitioners, users, and students, to raise knowledge of the significance that architects play in the community. Attendees will be able to learn more about the processes and techniques used in architecture by touring the respective offices and practises.
