Future Practice Competition and PAM Metaverse Competition Redefine the Future of Architecture

KLAF2023 concluded two unique competitions on 24th June 2023; the Future Practice Competition and the PAM Metaverse Competition, that aimed to encourage architects to redefine the future of architectural practice and explore the possibilities in the Metaverse respectively.

The Future Practice Competition, launched on March 25, 2023 called for entries by challenging architects, graduates, and students to rethink the ideal architectural practice for the future. Participants addressed various architectural challenges, proposed solutions and presented innovative business models.

The esteemed Jury panels for the Future Practice Competition comprised of the PAM President (2022-2023), Assoc. Prof. (Ind.) Ar. Sarly Adre Sarkum, KLAF 2023 Director Ar. Adj. Norzaini bin Mufti, Director of Chewan Architecture Sdn Bhd Ar. Che Wan Ahmad Faizal, Principal of Kuee Architecture Ar. Shyuan Kuee, CEO of UEM Sunrise Berhad Suffian Abdullah, Director of Endeavor Malaysia Adlin Yusman, and the Convener Ar. IDr Ts Ridha Razak.

The PAM Metaverse Competition, launched for entrees on May 15, 2023, called upon architects to envision and design an immersive PAM Metaverse. This competition served as a stepping stone for architects to venture into the digital realm and explore opportunities beyond traditional industries.

The Jury panels for the PAM Metaverse Competition included PAM President Ar. Abu Zarim bin Abu Bakar, CTD of Experiential Design Team Fariz Hanapiah, CEO of Consortium 21 Lai Ann, Director of Fireworks Design Studio Kenny Yap, Director of KITAMEN Hazman Hassan, and the Convener Ar. IDr. Ts. Qhawarizmi Norhisham
