The heart of Kuala Lumpur old Central Business District for administration as well trade and commerce is the selected site for the competition. Founded in 1957 at confluence of Gombak and Klang Rivers, the small mining town spurred by tin mining activities started to develop along the river banks starting with old market square (Medan Pasar) as its commercial centre.
From a languid colonial outpost, in the late 1800s, the city has now become advance, vibrant and cosmopolitan.
While your future city can be of any shape, form or sizes within the district; you are to elaborate your proposal over an area approximately 1.8km x 1.8km (as demarcated). We would like to see the depth of your ideas and the inclusions of the following heritage buildings and sites into your proposed future city design as to preserve the historical landmarks that identifies the cultural values of Kuala Lumpur.
