Discover the Art of Original Blueprints with Balqis Tajalli
In a captivating journey through time and imagination, the past was revived as architecture enthusiasts gathered for “The Return of Original Blueprint with Balqis Tajalli” workshop. Held on 13 August in PAM Centre, Bangsar. The event invited participants to explore the cyanotype- a historic blueprinting process that once bridged the worlds of architecture, engineering, and art. From 10 am to 3 pm, attendees embarked on an artistic adventure guided by the expertise of Balqis Tajalli, a visionary Designer and Print-Making Artist.
The morning session was an introduction and Blueprint Demo Participants where participants delved into the history of cyanotype, uncovering its origins as a vital tool for architects and engineers. Balqis Tajalli skillfully demonstrated the blueprint process, weaving together the rich tapestry of tradition and innovation. The afternoon session dived into the Unique Architectural Prints Workshop- The heart of the event. The hands-on session enabled participants to embrace their inner artist. Armed with architectural elements, found objects, and botanical specimens, attendees crafted their own cyanotypes. The workshop not only celebrated the artistry of the cyanotype process but also showcased Balqis Tajalli’s journey. Hailing from Kuala Lumpur and with a remarkable academic background, including receiving Part 1 RIBA at Korea National University of Arts, Balqis has made her mark in the world of architecture and design. Her collaboration with esteemed organizations like Little Planet Lab and Epic Homes has added depth to her work and a commitment to meaningful community engagement. As the event concluded, participants left with their own unique blueprints and a newfound appreciation for the marriage of history and creativity. Balqis Tajalli’s Sunprint Studio specialises in fostering architectural expression in harmony with nature.
